AUGUST VISIT

  • After a scenic walk south of the town, you’ll find Askeaton’s old railway station. Still home to Breda and Geraldine Dunworth, who hold fond memories of when their family used to manage and operate this train station, when it was last in service. As you can see the twin sisters do a really fabulous job maintaining this well loved local landmark.
Visiting on this idyllic August afternoon, with one of his crafted Shillelaghs(walking stick) in hand, is local artisan Seanie Barron and his dog Monty.
