ABOUT
Adrian Columb is a visual artist (and musician) who primarily works in oil and acrylic, though he is also proficient in a range of other mediums.
Born in Dublin, Ireland in 1978, Adrian is the eldest of six children. From an early age, he showed a passion for drawing—spending hours sketching, and even selling illustrations to his classmates.
In 1989, his family relocated to England, settling in Stamford, Lincolnshire. After completing secondary school in Peterborough, Adrian went on to study Art and Design at Stamford College. During his time there, he supported himself through pencil portraits, small murals, pub chalkboards, and other commissioned artwork.
Eager to explore the world and share his talents, Adrian spent his late teens and early twenties backpacking across Europe—busking and drawing caricatures for tourists along the way. His travels eventually took him to Canada and then to the United States, where he settled in Nevada City, California for eight years. It was there that his daughter, Cecilia, and son, Quin, were born. Through playing music in the local scene, Adrian met his wife, Joell—a fellow musician—who persuaded him to swap the Sierra Foothills for her hometown in the Ozark Mountains.
In Mountain View, Arkansas, Adrian rediscovered his passion for painting and visual art. He quickly gained recognition for his portrait work, landscapes, bespoke signs, and large-scale murals.
In 2018, after nearly 18 years in the U.S., Adrian returned to Ireland with his family. He now lives and works in the historic town of Askeaton, County Limerick, where his home studio continues to be a hub of creativity.
